Dear Members, CPI reiterated to the Canadian government the importance of taking an active approach to resolve access issues in Russia, a very important market for the Canadian pork industry. Russia remains our third largest export market. The increase in sales in 2014 proves it with 67,091 tonnes for the period of January 1 to May 31, 2014 compared to 37,214 tonnes during the same period in 2013, a growth of 80.3% in terms of volume. Despite this increase, many Canadian plants have not yet seen Russia lift the ban that is affecting them—in spite of the fact that they comply with all Russian requirements. CPI continues to work with Canadian and Russian partners to have these suspensions lifted. From everyone at CPI, we wish you a relaxing summer vacation! Sincerely, Edouard Asnong Back to main page › |
